* Specialist Airfield Lighting & Controls
* Electro-Mechanical Services for Buildings
* Electrical & Mechanical Infrastructure
* Street & Apron Lighting
* Storm Water Drainage Pump Stations & HV Substations

Execution of Contracts at Dubai International Airport culminated in 1999 with the concurrent execution and substantial completion of following projects in less than one year. The new runway was successfully energized on 8th November 1999 as per schedule.

* North Runway & Taxiway System TD 82 with M/s Bechtel
* Storm Water Drainage System
* Dubai Airshow Packages 001, 004 & 007 with M/s Dar Al Handasah

runwayThe runway project executed in close collaboration with SIEMENS, and includes installations in accordance with ICAO standards, of a complete state-of-the-art Arifield Lighting System with following features :

* 4 km of New Runway and 11.5 km of New Taxiways
* Airfield Lighting with individual lamp monitoring & control
* More than 4,000 Inset and elevated Airfield Lights
* 800 km of Primary (5 KV) & Secondary Airfield Lighting Cable
* 40 km of Aircraft presence sensing loops for 31 aircraft positions
* Controllers with 35 km of Fibre Optic Cable
* 1200 manholes housing individual lamp transformers and monitoring & control units
* 58 Nos. of Airfield Lighting circuits interleaved circuits from two substations
* Microprocessor controlled Current Regulators for each circuit
* Master lamp controllers and operator workstations.

substation

The substations were linked to the new Control Tower with interfacing to the existing runway along with linking of Navigational Aids, Radars and Meterological Stations involving :

* 28km of 72 core Fibre Optic Cables with 100% redundancy
* 23 km of Fibre Optic Cables
* 27 km of multi-core communication cables.

An electrical infrastructure was also required to provide power to the Airfield Lighting Substations, radar ILS& AMS stations. The total design concept was developed in-house with following installations :
* 19 Nos. of substations
* 43 km of 11 KV Cables (70 to 300mm³)
* 23 Nos. of Dry and Oil type Transformers (50 to 750KVA)
* SF6 type RMUs and Switchgear for substations
* 2 Nos. 1250 KVA Standby Generators
* Argonite Fire Suppression and Fire Alarm Systems
* BMS & Air-conditioning for substations
* Independent Earthing System with 275 Km of Earth Cables
* More than 525 earth stations with stainless steel earth rods.

The Storm Water Drainage System Project involves the mechanism wherein rain water from the entire Dubai Airport is collected and discharged to the Dubai Creek. The project is divided into 3 Phases out of which Phase-I has been already completed. Trans Gulf’s scope in Phase-I was for installation / scheduled completion of 2 Pump Stations with following features :

stormwater* 140 kW Submersible Pumps 3 Nos.
* 700 mm dia GRP pipe work
* 90 KW Propeller Pumps 6 Nos.
* 1000mm dia. Stainless Steel columns
* Motor Control Centres with withdrawable soft starters
* 1000 KVA / 11 KV Oil Transformers with SF6 Switchgear
* 3.4 Km of 3C 300mm² 11 KV cable
* 21 Nos. of Stainless steel electrically operated Pen Stocks upto 2000mm bore
* Complete ‘SCADA’ system for control and supervision

Phase II of the project was executed where 2 more Pump Stations with similar features as above.

The Air show Packages completed in preparation of Dubai Air Show involved following :

* Relocation of Power and Fibre Optic Cables
* Aircraft parking apron AFL
* Street and underbridge lighting for access ramp

The following list indicates Airport Projects completed till date amounting to more than Dhs.225.0 Million
